Buckeye Cable System Uses FBI To Siege Customer's Computers.

June 27, 2002

Today Buckeye Cable System used the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)  to attack it's paying customers. In February www.surfboardhack.com and other web pages like it (ie: www.cable-modems.org) has been a web pages blocked off from Buckeye Cable System subscribers, not only is this a breech of the First Amendment Freedom of Speech Act but was only the first step Buckeye Cable System took so it's subscribers could not find out about the cable modem tweak programs. These tweak programs would basically allow the user to edit a small text like file located in their cable modem to allow them faster speed.

Instead of warning or canceling the subscriber who used these programs, Buckeye Cable System alleged a $250,000 profit loss to call in the FBI to siege home computers. It was said that Buckeye Cable old systems could not keep up with customer's demand of higher speed nor the improvements of modern technology and was forced to take drastic measures against the hands that feed them.

It's a known fact that Buckeye Cable System cable service had been around since 1999 and has not changed it's performance, only it's rise in cost several times since then.

Buckeye Cable System has announced aside from blocking certain web pages due to its contents, it will also block file sharing programs like Morpheus, WinMX, Kazaa, or Napster. Due to a lot of bandwidth being used and the slowing down of certain customers, Buckeye Cable will now monitor closely on where all this bandwidth is going and what they're customers are doing.

Buckeye Cable (again), out to get their customers for the price of a dollar. Surely just cutting off the subscriber for unauthorized use is to much, they need to go after their wallet or try for jail time. This company is way to much, stay clear.
